Yoga is the integration of mind, body, and spirit. I believe that Yoga is beneficial for EVERY body. My caring, creative approach will encourage both the experienced and the “flexibly challenged” to become stronger, more balanced in body and mind, and to find an inner peace that is so elusive in this day and age.
My commitment to you, the student, is to guide you through safe yoga poses (asanas) in a supportive environment using props and gentle adjustments to modify the pose for YOUR body and fitness level.
With a regular yoga practice you will: fortify your core (back and stomach) to reduce back pain, sleep better, reduce stress/tension in your everyday life, experience improved digestion, encouraging weight loss, increase flexibility, strengthen muscles, open up energy reserves in the body, find body systems & internal organs work more efficiently, have a “family” of supportive classmates, and so much more!!!!
We integrate breathing techniques (pranayama), relaxation, and the physical practice (asana) into each class. I believe in a balanced practice so you can expect to experience a flowing class one week and work on strength or balance another. We will also introduce a little uplifting yoga philosophy, relaxing meditation and stress reduction techniques. You can begin to use these tools in your life immediately.
